Hy!

The idea behind this is trivial! I had a Corsair PC source gathering dust and thought of giving it a job:

It will be my new project supply. Well, this one is a very good all-rounder as it’s a 750W unit.

But most PC power sources will give you: +3.3, +5, +12 V at good amps(well above 5A). Mine will give 60A at 12v but that’s not a must, unless you want to start large motors or you need to charge a lot of batteries in the same time – 2/3 packs of NiMh at 4 or 5 amps each — the current output depends on the total power of the source.

But if you do need this large current please DO NOT use this breadboard method. A good way for large currents is to get the wires directly from the power rail and fit new plugs of your choice.

Here is a picture of the finished unit. Te green led is only to remind me to shut it off.
